Now available on Firefox
We now have a Firefox addon.
You can install it and save pages to your archive from Firefox in the same way as Chrome.
Why Firefox?
Because not everyone wants to use Chrome.
MemoryHole should not depend on a single browser. The whole point of this project is to make personal archiving simple. Capturing should work without hassle on as many browsers, platforms, and devices as possible (just like the web).
One annoying permission note
Firefox does not expose the same page-capture API that Chromium does. In Chrome, the extension can ask the browser for a packaged copy of the current page. In Firefox, MemoryHole has to do more work by parsing the page and fetching all the associated resources (images, scripts, stylesheets).
That means Firefox asks for broader site access than the Chrome version. The addon still only captures when you click the button. It’s not sitting there uploading your browsing history.
If you run into a page that’s not being captured well, please report it using the “Give feedback” button in the sidebar. Web pages are complicated, and Firefox support will get better over time as more reports come in.
What’s next?

I’m working on a way to capture pages from your smartphone. This one is tricky because I’m trying to avoid asking people to download yet another app on their phones. More to come soon!

Not promising anything yet, but it would be nice to have synced offline access.
